No Portis/Bailey grudge match?

The Redskins' biggest trade of the last decade came in 2004 when they dealt four-time Pro Bowl cornerback Champ Bailey and a second-round draft choice to the Broncos for running back Clinton Portis, the 2002 Rookie of the Year and a Pro Bowl selection in 2003.

Who got the best of the trade was debatable then and is less so now that Bailey is headed for the Hall of Fame while his own injuries and those of his offensive line have hamstrung Portis.

The weird thing is that Bailey, who missed only three games in his career until a 7-game inactive stint with a groin in 2008,  was inactive with a hamstring when the Redskins visited Denver in 2005.

And now Portis, who has started 40 straight games, is doubtful for Sunday's visit by Bailey and the Broncos because of the concussion he suffered at Atlanta.

Washington and Denver won't play again until 2013 when Portis will be 32 and Bailey will be 35.
