OK, been a busy afternoon trying to figure things out with QB Colt Brennan going to IR and QB Chase Daniel getting cut.
According to a source close to Brennan, here’s the latest.
Brennan has a torn left labrum in his hip and although he could practice and potentially play through it, the decision is to have surgery. He will be placed on the season-ending injured reserve list.
Brennan had surgery for the same injury in his right hip after his last college season, which probably played into him dropping to the Redskins in the seventh round.
The hip injury happened against Baltimore and Brennan then hurt his hamstring Thursday night.
With the Brennan/Daniel moves, that leaves the Redskins with only two QB — Jason Campbell and Todd Collins. I would expect them to sign another quarterback just because they need an arm to run the scout team in practice.
Front office chief Vinny Cerrato is scheduled to talk at 6 p.m. about the roster moves.
