NatGeo has new Web site look

← return to Technology

Toddle over to the National Geographic Society Web site and get ready to be amazed — the site has a new look, courtesy of an in-house development team and the Django Web programming framework. The results are something rather nice, dynamic and fresh. The photos, as one might expect, are amazing.

One of the truly nice items here is the "Photo of the Day," which you can download as a background picture for your computer desktop. You'll almost certainly get oohs and ahhs from your coworkers.

Web surfers will do better viewing the photo galleries using Mozilla's Firefox instead of Google's Chrome Web browser, since something in Chrome doesn't like the galleries. But whatever browser you use, get over to NatGeo — it's an Internet trip that'll bring you the world.
