Democrats see disunity in GOP

It's not exactly Hillary vs. Obama but Barack Obama's campaign is helpfully pointing out to reporters that Mike Huckabee, darling of evangelical Republican voters, wasn't vetted for John McCain's vice president's slot.

This morning the Obama campaign sent along a brief item from Politico pointing out Huckabee's announcement on his PAC Web site that he wasn't vetted.

Writes Mr. Huckabee:

"I know that many of you have hoped and prayed that I would be selected as John McCain’s running mate.  I am certainly moved by your support and confidence, but instead of you hearing a bunch of total nonsense from the media, I want to share exclusively with you what is up.

"There are reports that I’m on my way to Dayton tonight.  Not true.  Wasn’t invited to be there and any reports that I’m going to be there are a big surprise to me.  I have never been contacted by the McCain campaign at any point about the VP slot.  I have never been asked for any information, background, etc., so as I have said repeatedly in interviews, I didn’t consider myself to be under any consideration."

The pick of Gov. Palin will calm things down.

Demorats see disunity in the GOP? Don't they wish? HA! They picked an empty suited far left loser and now they will have to live with it.

Karpy

The Democrats are throwing out the "disunity" phrase in a transparent effort to hide their own dysfunction. They are the masters of spin and disinformation, and sadly this little bait and con will probably get thousands to bite.

I was Huckabee's most loyal supporter in the primaries, and now I'm going to support McCain in the General Election. So much for disunity.
