By Greg Bennett

Legendary comic book store owner Greg Bennett provides a pair of recommendations for comic book lovers every week. Titles are either currently on specialty store shelves or shipping or in the near future. Fans can also click on the covers to appreciate the fine art.

Dylan Dog Case Files from Dark Horse Comics

Dylan Dog Case Files, trade paperback, Dark Horse Comics ($24.95)

Dylan Dog is a supernatural detective, whose exploits have been published for years in Italy. If you ever saw the cult movie Cemetery Man, starring Rupert Everett, that was Dylan Dog. Quirky, funny, with beautiful art, all seven of the English translations are available here in one volume. Recommended by me and Mike Mignola (he did the cover).

100 Percent from Vertigo/DC Comics

100 Percent, hard cover, Vertigo/DC Comics ($39.99)

Another of Paul Pope's great GNs is back in print. A slice-of-life comic about six different peoples lives, but set in the cyberpunk future of 2038 (not to be confused with his Batman: Year 100, set in 2039). Hopefully Pope's Battling Boy and Collected THB will be out later this year, if he's not too busy working for Diesel and Donna Karan. The man is in demand!

Greg Bennett is the Owner/Manager of Big Planet Comics, a chain of pop art specialty stores in the DC Metro area with locations in Georgetown, Bethesda, Vienna, & College Park.
