Maryland’s injury report includes a notable —- and unexpected —- name.

Senior linebacker Kenny Tate is listed as doubtful for the Terrapins’ game Saturday at No. 13 Georgia Tech. Maryland does not disclose the types of injuries a player could miss time for under coach Randy Edsall.

Tate, an all-conference safety last season, was moved to linebacker for his final season. He has 35 tackles (1.5 for loss) while starting all four games. Tate has started 17 consecutive games, the third longest streak on the defense behind Cameron Chism (27) and Demetrius Hartsfield (18).

If Tate doesn’t play, redshirt freshman Mario Rowson would be in line to make his first career start. The 6-foot-3, 190-pounder would be the fourth likely freshman to start against the Yellow Jackets, joining defensive end Keith Bowers, linebacker Lorne Goree and safety Titus Till.
