Republican Michael Cloud

Michael Cloud (b. May 13, 1975, in Baton Rouge, LA) is a Republican member of the U.S. House representing Texas's 27th Congressional District. He is seeking reelection to his current seat. Cloud was first elected by special election in 2018 to fill the vacancy caused by the resignation of United States Representative Blake Farenthold and was elected in the general election later that year. In 2018, Cloud defeated Democrat Eric Holguin, Independent James Duerr and Libertarian Daniel Tinus (Cloud – 60.3%; Holguin – 36.6%; Duerr – 2.1%; Tinus – 1.0%). Cloud earned an undergraduate from Oral Roberts University. He is the founder of Bright Idea Media and former County Chair of the Victoria County Republican Party.
