Republican Mario Diaz-Balart

Mario Rafael Diaz-Balart Caballero (b. September 25, 1961, in Fort Lauderdale, FL) is a Republican member of the U.S. House of Representatives. Diaz-Balart was elected by voters from Florida's 25th Congressional District. Diaz-Balart won re-election in 2016. Diaz-Balart was first elected to the U.S. House in 2002, representing District 25. He previously served in the Florida House of Representatives from the 21st District from 2011 to 2013, District 112 of the Florida House of Representatives from 2000 to 2002 and District 37 of the Florida State Senate form 1992 to 2000. Based on analysis of multiple outside rankings, Diaz-Balart is a more moderate right of center Republican Party vote. As a result, he may break with the Republican Party line more than his fellow members.
