Walter Johnson, nicknamed "The Big Train," was a pitcher playing from 1907 to 1927  with the Washington Senators.  Johnson was known as a power pitcher of his era, believed to throw the ball over 100 miles per hour.   Later in Johnson's career as baseball manager he had the nickname, "Old Barney."
