FILE -In this Jan. 23, 1997 file picture  German tenor  Peter Hofmann arrives at the  Karl-May festival  in Bad Segeberg, northern Germany. German media are reporting that tenor Peter Hofmann has died at 66 after a long battle with Parkinson's disease. The Rheinische Post newspaper quoted brother Fritz Hofmann saying he died early Tuesday Nov. 30, 2010  at a hospital in Wunsiedel in Bavaria. Hofmann was famous for his performances as tenor at the annual Bayreuth festival celebrating the music of Richard Wagner. He toured stages across the world, including the Metropolitan Opera in New York, and performed as the main character of the Phantom of the Opera musical in Hamburg.   (AP Photo/Christof Stache,File)
