Richmond American Homes is building 29 Colonial-style single-family homes at the new development of Somerset in Kettering. Each home in this Prince George's County community will be built on a quarter-acre site.

All six models will include low-maintenance vinyl siding, professional landscaping, a fiberglass shingle roof and a two-car garage. Brick fronts are optional.

Inside, each home features an open floor plan with four or five bedrooms, 2 1/2 baths, 9-foot ceilings on the first floor, a center-island kitchen, six-panel interior doors, a luxury master bath, a three-piece plumbing rough-in in the basement, and gas heat and hot water.

The models range in size from 1,846 to 2,592 finished square feet, with base prices from $195,990 to $229,990.

The Jefferson model, with 1,846 finished square feet, is priced from $195,990. This home features a foyer entrance into the living room, which has decorative columns and a powder room off to one side, and a formal dining room, defined by more columns, on the other side. At the rear of the house is the center-island kitchen, which includes a pantry, a built-in desk and a breakfast room. On the opposite side of the staircase from the breakfast room is the family room.

Upstairs are four bedrooms and two full baths, including a master suite with a walk-in closet and a luxury bath with a corner soaking tub, a separate shower and a double vanity. The upper level also includes a laundry room and linen closet. The lower level can be finished with a recreation room and full bath and includes an unfinished storage room.

Options include a finished lower-level recreation room, gas fireplaces, room ex-tensions, a gourmet kitchen and bay windows.
