From the District, Take Route 295 through the District to Indian Head Highway. From Maryland, take the Beltway south to the Indian Head Highway, Exit 3A. From Virginia, take the Beltway over the Woodrow Wilson Bridge to the first exit, Exit 2A, for Indian Head Highway. Then, go southeast away from the District for three miles and turn left onto Old Fort Road. Follow it for two miles to Gallahan Road, and turn left. The farm is a short distance ahead, at 12309 Gallahan Road in Fort Washington.




7:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m., seven days a week. Bakery hours are 5:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. Daily specials and other information is available on the information hot line. Always call ahead for directions or information on the fruits available for picking and the specials.


Fruit is weighed after picking per-pound prices are posted each day. Admission to the Fall Harvest Festival (Oct. 6-31) is $4 to $5.50 per person and includes a hayride, entertainment and a pumpkin. Large groups should call ahead for reservations.


Comfortable clothing, sunscreen and a hat.


Young children should not pick up fruit under trees, which sometimes attracts bees. Parents of infants might find a back or front carrier most useful.
