Rose Hill Manor Park is located at 1611 N. Market St., Frederick, Md.


Take the Beltway to Interstate 270 north to Frederick. Take Route 15 north, get off at the Motter Avenue exit, then turn left on 14th Street. Take a left on North Market Street, pass Thomas Johnson High School, and the park entrance will be on your left.


Parking generally is free, although local Boy Scouts sometimes collect $1 donations.


The park is open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Saturday and 1 to 4 p.m. Sunday.


Two-hour guided tours are held throughout the day and include the manor, icehouse, smokehouse, orchard, herb and vegetable gardens and blacksmith shop. The tour has plenty of hands-on activities and toys for children.


There is no admission charge for the park or any of the guided tours.

A concession stand in the middle of the park sells hot dogs, ham sandwiches, sodas, doughnuts and pie.


• June 23 through 25: regional quilt show. Hours: Friday 10 a.m. to 8 p.m., Saturday 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., Sunday 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

• July 10 through Aug. 4: children's history camps, daily 9 a.m. to noon.

• Aug. 20: antique car show 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., road rally 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., ice cream social noon to 3 p.m.
