Build-a-Bear Workshop is located in Tysons Corner Center, on the second floor near the Bloomingdale's entrance.

From the District: Take Interstate 66 West and exit at Route 7 West. Go two miles on Route 7 to Tysons Corner Center. The entrance is on the right.

The store is open from 10 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. Monday through Saturday and 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday.

Stuffed animals range in price from $10 for a variety of 13-inch bears to $25 for a 21-inch polar bear. Clothes are extra.

The phone number for the Build-a-Bear Workshop at Tysons Corner is 703/448-2327. The number to order a gift certificate is 888/560-2327. Web site: www.buildabear.com.

• Birthday parties or other special events can be held at the store. The birthday celebrant is given $10 in "Bear Bucks." Events are booked through the company's headquarters at 877/789-2327.

• Bears are invited to partake in a spa day, in which their owners can treat them to an air fluff, massage and new bow at no cost. The spring fluff-and-stuff program will run from April 24 through May 21.

Feel free to seek help from staff members. All are graduates of "Bear University" and have been trained to help with everything from stuffing and stitching to choosing a name. (They have lists of names for the creatively challenged.)

If possible, avoid visiting on a weekend, when lines are so long that they stretch outside the door and through the mall.
