The National Aquarium is located at Baltimore's Inner Harbor at Pier 3, 501 E. Pratt St.


From the Beltway, take Interstate 95 north toward Baltimore to Interstate 395 to Pratt Street. Turn right on Pratt Street. The aquarium is on the right. Parking often can be found on side streets or in public parking garages nearby.


Admission to Breakfast With the Dolphins is $12 for aquarium members and $20 for all others. Regular admission is $14 for adults, $10.50 for seniors (60 and older) and $7.50 for children ages 3 to 11. Children 3 and younger are admitted free.


The National Aquarium is open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday through Thursday and 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Friday from November through February. From March through June and in September and October, the hours are 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday through Thursday and 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Friday. During July and August, hours are 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. daily. The aquarium is closed on Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Day.

Breakfast With the Dolphins is held monthly, and reservations are required.

• Nov. 12, 9 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. is the next scheduled Breakfast With the Dolphins.

• Dec. 2 and 3 at 9 a.m. is Breakfast With Santa, which is $17 for adult members, $25 for all other adults, $14 for child members and $22 for children who are not members.

• Also on Dec. 3 is Deaf Awareness Day, with interpreters signing at all programs.

• Dec. 9 and 10 are Dollar Days, when all admissions will be $1. Every Friday after 5 p.m. until March 2, admission is discounted to $5, and visitors can stay in the building until 10 p.m.


• USS Constellation (1854) is the only surviving Civil War-era vessel afloat. After years of restoration, the ship was returned to the Inner Harbor in July 1999. It is open daily from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. from Oct. 15 through April 30 and 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. from May 1 through Oct. 14. Admission is $6.50 for adults and $3.50 for children (6 to 14) with children 5 and younger admitted free. For more information, call 410/539-1797.

• The World Trade Center has an elevator to the 27th floor, where the city and the harbor can be viewed from a 423-foot vantage point. It is open Monday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. and Sunday from noon until 5:30 p.m. Hours are extended during the summer. Admission is $4 for adults and $3 for children. • The Maryland Science Center has an Imax 3-D Theater, which is featuring "Into the Deep," "Dolphins" and "Cirque du Soleil." The center also has a planetarium for stargazing and three floors of hands-on exhibits that are sure to thrill the youngsters. The center is open Monday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Saturday and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Admission is $13 for adults and $9 for children ages 4 to 12.
