Take the Metro to the Pentagon and go up the escalator to the Pentagon entrance.

The Pentagon is in Arlington and can be easily accessed by car by taking Interstate 395 south and exiting at the Pentagon South parking entrance.


A visitors parking lot at 700 Army-Navy Drive is open from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. and is across the street from Macy´s Department Store. From here, walk though a pedestrian tunnel and follow the signs for the Pentagon tour. Allow 10 to 15 minutes from the parking lot to reach the Pentagon tour area. All walk-in tours begin and end at the Pentagon Metro entrance.


The free Pentagon tours operate on the hour beginning at 9 a.m. and ending at 3 p.m. The tour is about an hour long and includes walking about a mile, including several staircases.


Due to security, Pentagon tour group size is limited and the tours do fill up. Anyone 16 or older must show a valid photo identification. Anyone 16 or younger must be accompanied by an adult.

No recording devices are allowed, and cell phones must be turned off. Cameras are allowed and photos can be taken, but photographing open offices or personnel is not allowed. All purses, bags and so forth must be stored in a locked closet before the tour. All visitors must pass through a security scanning device and are issued a badge, which must be worn while on the tour.
