Mary Lisicky scored a game-high 21 points, including seven 3-pointers, as visiting Georgetown outlasted American 79-56 last night.
Nok Duany and Rebekkah Brunson each scored 13 points for the Hoyas (6-2), who now lead the all-time series with the crosstown Eagles 17-5.
American (5-4) led 12-8 with 12:48 to play in the first half, but Georgetown went on a 20-4 run to take a 28-16 lead with 3:41 remaining in the half.
After leading 31-20 at the half, the Hoyas came out of the locker room and embarked on an 18-3 spurt to take a commanding 49-25 lead with 12:56 left in the game.
Georgetown shot 70.4 percent (19-for-27) from the floor in the second half, including 6-for-11 from 3-point range.
American was led by Chanel Hunt and Chanel Spriggs, who each netted 11 points.
