Seen and heard last night at MCI Center:

STREAK EXTENDED Olie Kolzig started his 36th consecutive regular season home game in goal for the Caps, a streak believed to be the longest of its kind in the league.

HELP A TOT The Marine Corps Reserve's annual Toys for Tots drive will be conducted at MCI Center before tomorrow night's game against Atlanta. Fans wishing to participate are asked to bring a new, unwrapped toy to the arena, where a uniformed member of the Marine Corps will be on hand to receive it.

WHAT DAY IS IT? The members of the Washington Capitals' wives club have issued their calendar for next year, titled "A Capital Tribute." The calendar features members of the team in various settings around the capital area. The calendars are for sale on the main concourse of the arena and are priced for $15, with all proceeds donated to the Pentagon Relief Fund.
