The Marine Corps Air-Ground Museum is located at the Marine Corps Combat Development Command in Quantico, Va., and is open to the public. From the District, take Interstate 95 south about 35 miles to Exit 148, marked "Marine Corps Base Quantico." Proceed to the gate, and the guards will direct you to the museum.

There is no admission charge. Free parking is available next to the museum facilities.

The museum is open April 1 through Nov. 15; Tuesday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., Sunday from noon to 5 p.m. The museum is closed Easter Sunday.

The Globe & Laurel restaurant is located at 18418 Jefferson Davis Highway in Triangle, Va. (Call 703/221-5763 or visit www.heritagestudio.com/spooner.htm.) From the bases main gate, the restaurant is about a half-mile north on Route 1. Soups, salads, sandwiches, veggie and beef burgers and daily specials, including meatloaf and crab cakes, are among the luncheon offerings; lunch for two might total $12 or so without tip. The dinner menu is more extensive.
Lunch is served Monday through Friday, 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Dinner is offered Monday through Saturday, 5 to 9:30 p.m. The restaurant is closed Sundays and national holidays.
In addition, the usual array of fast-food restaurants is located near or on the base.
