This professional organization provides doula training, study materials and referrals. A doula is a trained labor companion who offers the mother support during delivery and after the baby is born.

• The magazine Midwifery Today has information on finding a midwife, home birth and water birth as well as subscription information and bulletin boards on its site (www.midwiferytoday.com).
