The Maryland Terrapins are coming off their first Final Four, and they're hoping their latest recruiting class will be a part of more.

Coach Gary Williams announced yesterday the Terps have signed four players that will arrive as freshmen next fall: guard/forward Nik Caner-Medley (6-foot-7, 210 pounds, Deering High, Portland, Maine), point guard John Gilchrist (6-1, 170, Salem High/Virginia Beach), forward Travis Garrison (6-9, 215, DeMatha High) and guard Chris McCray (6-4, 180, Fairmont Heights High).

"They all have proven themselves different ways, whether it's the school year or the summertime, against the best players in the country," Williams said.

ESPN.com ranks McCray No. 41, Gilchrist No. 48, Garrison No. 59 and Caner-Medley No. 100 on its list of the top-100 seniors.

Garrison averaged 15.9 points and nine rebounds for the city champion Stags last season. AAU teammate McCray averaged 29 points and six assists.

Gilchrist was the Associated Press player of the year in Virginia last season and led Salem to the Virginia Class AAA state title. He was rated the No.4 player at the Nike All-American Camp this summer by Hoops4u.com. Caner-Medley averaged 26.8 points and 12.7 rebounds last season for state finalist Deering.
