Directions:

The Fairfax Station Railroad Museum is located at 11200 Fairfax Station Road in Fairfax Station. From Route 66 west, take the Fairfax County Parkway exit (Virginia Route 7100) and drive south toward Springfield and Route 123. Go east on Burke Centre Parkway. At Ox Road, turn left (north). Turn left on Fairfax Station Road and follow for one-half mile to the museum.

Parking and admission:

Admission is $3 for adults, $1 for children. Parking is free.

Hours:

The museum is open from 1 to 4 p.m. Sundays. A gift shop within the museum offers all kinds of local railroad, Civil War and related items, including adorable T-shirts for the train-loving child. A local train club sets up displays the third Sunday of every month except December and January. The 12th annual train show is scheduled for Dec. 1 and 2.
