Turkey hunters, take note. Roy Rhodes, a former world duck calling champion and winner of a national turkey calling championship, now wants to help shotgunners hit their mark more consistently. Rhodes has released a signature line of high performance shotgun choke tubes that he promises will deliver the goods.
The engineering designs for the tubes were provided by Ballistic Specialties, and anybody involved in sporting clay shooting events the world over knows the fine work the company does. Ballistic Specialties manufactured the Rhodes choke tubes well beyond industry standards. They maintain a longer parallel surface that deliver consistently tight patterns.
Rhodes' signature choke tube line is available to fit most popular shotgun brands and can be bought in three "condition-specific" styles. For example, waterfowlers would look for the "Open Water Choke" that makes consistent, clean kills at 70 yards, even more. The "Timber Choke" is recommended for shots inside a 50-yard range. Both tubes are compatible with steel and other non-toxic shot loads.
Turkey hunters already are applauding Rhodes' "Turkey Choke" that sends a formidable 60-plus pellet pattern into a 4-inch circle at 40 yards.
All of the Roy Rhodes choke tubes feature an exclusive knurled forend, which eliminates wrenches, eases installation, plus they're laser-engraved for quick identification. Suggested retail cost of these high performance tubes is $80. Look for them in your favorite sporting goods store. For a dealer near you, call 901/385-1115, or go on the Web at www.royrhodes.com.
On the subject of spring turkey hunting, the Maryland and Virginia gobbler hunt is under way now and will continue through May 18.
