Location: The Navy Museum is in Building 76 at the Washington Navy Yard at Ninth and M streets SE in the District.

Hours: The museum is open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Mondays through Fridays from April 1 through Labor Day. The rest of the year, the hours are 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. It is closed on weekends and holidays.

Admission: Free. Visitors who are not members of the military or do not hold a Department of Defense identification card must call the museum before visiting. Self-guided and docent-guided tours are available for individuals and groups; family tours are welcomed. To schedule a tour, call 202/433-4882.

Parking and food: The museum has 12 spots for visitors, located to the right of the building. If no spots are available, visitors are encouraged to send a member of their group inside the museum to ask staff members for parking help or directions to a nearby garage for overflow parking a five-minute walk from the museum. Do not park in the lot next to the USS Barry unless instructed to do so by museum staff. Food vendors within the Navy Yard include McDonald's, Subway and Dunkin Donuts.
