Location: The White House Visitor Center is at 1450 Pennsylvania Ave. NW. The entrance is at the north end of the Department of Commerce building. To reach the Christmas Pageant of Peace with ease, enter the Ellipse at 15th and E streets NW.
Parking: Street parking is limited. The nearest Metro stops are Federal Triangle (Orange and Blue lines) and Metro Center (Red Line).
Hours: The Visitor Center will be decorated for the holidays by Tuesday, and the exhibit will remain through Jan. 5. The center is open 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. daily except Christmas and New Year's days. The Christmas Pageant of Peace displays are open daily from 9 a.m. to 11 p.m. through Jan. 1. Free afternoon and evening musical presentations are scheduled through Dec. 23 and again Dec. 26 through 30. Check www.nps.gov/whho/pageant/music/index.htm for performance schedules.

Note: Home & Garden Television is producing several shows featuring the White House holidays. "The White House Christmas 2002" is an hour-long special that features the decorations up-close, including the holiday transformations in the Blue Room, the State Dining Room and the East Room. An edited eight-minute version of the show will play continuously on monitors in the Visitor Center. The special airs on HGTV at 9 p.m. Dec. 15, 10 p.m. Dec. 20, 5 p.m. Dec. 22, and 1 p.m., 8 p.m. and 11 p.m. Dec. 25.
"Modern Masters: White House Artisans" looks at the creation of the ornaments that decorate the National Christmas Tree. The program will air on HGTV at 10 p.m. Dec. 15, 9 p.m. Dec. 20 and 2 p.m. Dec. 25.
