Seen and heard last night at MCI Center:
NO TV The Wizards announced that because NBC pulled Sunday's game against Orlando from its lineup, game time is 6 p.m. at MCI Center and it will not be shown on local television.
GLAD NOT TO SEE MJ Trail Blazers forward Scottie Pippen, who won six titles with Michael Jordan when both played for the Chicago Bulls, was almost relieved when it was announced Jordan would not play last night. "I was looking forward to it," Pippen said of their aborted meeting, "but wasn't trying to make a whole lot of it."
OLD TIES For his first head coaching job in the NBA, Trail Blazers coach Maurice Cheeks went back to his Philadelphia ties to hire his assistants. He played with Caldwell Jones and coached under Herb Brown's brother, Larry, in Philadelphia and former 76ers coach Jim Lynam.
FILLING THE SEATS Not that the Wizards setting an attendance record wasn't already a mere formality, but the team's next sellout will tie the previous season record of 30 during the 1994-95 season.
