PASADENA, Calif. — Two perennial TV favorites, "ER" and "Friends," won People's Choice Awards, along with actor Tom Hanks and actresses Julia Roberts and Jennifer Aniston.

Mr. Hanks won Sunday for favorite dramatic actor and the more general favorite movie actor, beating out last year's dual winner, Mel Gibson.

Other nominees included Denzel Washington and Anthony Hopkins.

Eddie Murphy propelled by 2001 hits including "Dr. Dolittle 2" and "Shrek," beat Jim Carrey and Ben Stiller for favorite comedic performer. "Shrek" won as best movie.

Miss Roberts took home the award as favorite motion picture actress her eighth in the category. Miss Aniston won for best TV actress; her show "Friends" won for favorite comedy series.

"ER" won favorite TV drama for the ninth consecutive year, and "Alias" won as best new TV series. Garth Brooks garnered his 12th win as favorite male musical performer.

Singer Reba McEntire, who previously has won eight awards for musical performer, won her ninth overall award, this one for her acting role in "Reba," the new TV series.

Motion-picture actress: Julia Roberts.

Male television performer: (tie) Kelsey Grammer, "Frasier," and Ray Romano, "Everybody Loves Raymond."

Female television performer: Jennifer Aniston, "Friends."

Male performer in a new television series: Damon Wayans, "My Wife and Kids."

Female performer in a new television series: Reba McEntire, "Reba."

Television comedy series: "Friends."

Television dramatic series: "ER."

New television comedy series: "My Wife and Kids."

New television dramatic series: "Alias."

Reality-based television program: "Survivor: The Australian Outback."

Daytime dramatic series: "Days of Our Lives."

Male musical performer: Garth Brooks.

Female musical performer: Faith Hill.

Musical group or band: 'N Sync.
