UNIONDALE, N.Y. (AP) Mia Hamm scored two goals as the Washington Freedom beat the New York Power 4-1 last night.
Skylar Little and Anne Makinen scored in the first half as Washington (5-5-3) sent the Power to its sixth loss in a row, a WUSA record.
Tammy Pearman netted her first goal of the season for New York (2-10-1) in the second half.
Hamm's first goal took three shots. New York goalkeeper Gao Hong made two remarkable saves on Hamm's first two shots but left rebounds on both.
Freedom goalkeeper Siri Mullinix was kicked in the left hand during the first half and replaced after the break. Washington coach Jim Gabarra said the injury was either a bone bruise or a mild fracture.
