VILLANOVA, Pa. (AP) Marinette Pichon scored late in the 87th minute to rally the Philadelphia Charge to a 1-1 tie with the Washington Freedom yesterday.
Pichon's fourth goal of the season helped Philadelphia (5-1-2) stay unbeaten in its last three games.
Trailing 1-0, Philadelphia couldn't generate much offense in the second half until Pichon took a pass from Jen Tietjen and sent a left-footed shot over Washington's Siri Mullinix and into the far right side of the net.
Jen Grubb scored for Washington (2-4-3), which had its winless skid extended to five games.
Washington took a 1-0 lead in the 40th minute when Grubb scored on a penalty kick for her first goal of the season.
