Bantamweight Clarence Vinson, of the District, will look to stretch his undefeated record to six straight victories when he faces Sandico Oviedo tonight in the co-feature of the Ballroom Boxing show at Michael's Eighth Avenue in Glen Burnie, Md.
Vinson, a bronze medalist on the U.S. Olympic boxing team in Sydney, will be fighting in his first eight-round bout when he faces the veteran Oviedo (22-14-1).
Another undefeated fighter, George Walton (11-0) winner of three straight fights at Ballroom Boxing shows will square off in another eight-rounder against a fan favorite at Ballroom Boxing, Derrick "Double Impact" Whitley (16-17-1). Despite his record, Whitley has come on of late as a tough fighter, coming off a win over James Coker (22-4) and going 9-3-1 in his last 13 fights.
Whitley's brother, the second half of "Double Impact" light heavyweight Darrin Whitley (12-16-6) will face Berry Butler (5-8) in a scheduled six-round match. Like his brother, Darrin Whitley's record has been impressive lately, 7-1-1 in his last nine fights.
