Seen and heard last night at TD Waterhouse Centre in Orlando Fla.:
HERE'S THE JORDAN SKINNY OK, you know the guy isn't going to be back in time for the West Coast trip, which starts Wednesday in Los Angeles against the Clippers. That in itself is killing Michael Jordan.
But he is coming back this season, contrary to some reports. And, according to sources within the organization, Jordan, who has yet to speak since undergoing surgery on his right knee to repair torn cartilage, is way ahead of schedule.
Jordan is already applying weight to the joint and has even been performing weightless squats, something that shouldn't happen according to the source for about another week.
"He's doing his rehab like there's no tomorrow," said the source.
SOUTHERN CONNECTIONS The Houston Rockets with Moochie Norris, Steve Francis and Walt Williams is the team most notable for having a lot of District-area products on the roster, but the Magic have their fair share of players who cut their teeth in and around the city.
Patrick Ewing and Don Reid who went to Largo High School played their college ball at Georgetown, Monty Williams went to Potomac High in Oxon Hill and Grant Hill, who is sitting out another season after ankle surgery, played at South Lakes High in Reston.
