Yesterday, we ran an editorial suggesting that Sen. John McCain tried to cut a deal with House Majority Leader Dick Armey to protect the interests of Argenbright Security in the homeland-security legislation. We stand corrected. It turns out it was Mr. McCain's negotiating staff, not the senator to Mr. Armey directly, who fought so hard for Argenbright. Beyond this clarification, we stand by our editorial.
