Seen and heard last night at Comcast Center:
A BANNER YEAR: The pregame ceremony to raise Maryland's national championship banner in Comcast Center included university president C.D. Mote and Maryland Gov. Parris Glendening. Glendening, who heard a smattering of boos from the crowd was presented a ceremonial game ball by Gary Williams.
MAJORING IN (Foul) LANGUAGE: Maryland students showed they brought their foul mouths from Cole Field House, chanting an epithet every time Miami's Chet Mason and Danny Horace touched the ball following their technical fouls in the first and second halves, respectively. The tradition of berating a visiting player after a technical has existed for years, but yesterday the practice was particularly obnoxious.
