Location: The Alexandria Black History Resource Center, including the Watson Reading Room, is at 638 N. Alfred St. The Alexandria African American Heritage Park is at Duke Street on Holland Lane.

Directions: From the District, take Interstate 395 south to the George Washington Parkway and into Alexandria. Make a right on to Wythe Street; the center is on the left after several blocks.

Hours: The center is open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesdays through Saturdays, and 1 to 5 p.m. Sundays. The reading room is open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesdays through Saturdays. Contact the center for holiday hours.

Admission and parking: There is no charge for general admission. Street parking is plentiful and free. The center is handicapped-accessible.
