D.R. Horton is building 49 estate homes at Meadows Green in Boonsboro, where the homes will be built on homesites of 2 acres or larger with vistas of the Blue Ridge Mountains.

Each home in this Washington County community will include a brick front, a front bay window with a copper roof, a steeply pitched roof, professional landscaping and a two-car garage.

Inside, all eight models feature four bedrooms; 2 or 3 baths; hardwood flooring in the foyer; 9- and 10-foot ceilings on all three levels; crown and chair-rail moldings; a wood-burning fireplace; 42-inch raised panel cabinets, Corian counters and upgraded Jenn-Air appliances in the center-island kitchen; ceramic tile flooring in all baths; a master bath with a tub and separate shower and cathedral or tray ceilings; a security system; a rough-in for a lower-level bath; and gas heat and hot water.

The homes have approximately 3,010 to 4,900 finished square feet, with base prices from the mid- to upper $400,000s.

The Balmoral model, with 3,679 square feet , features a two-story foyer, a formal dining room, a formal living room with decorative columns, and a dramatic octagonal two-story great room with a step-down, a fireplace with a window above, and decorative columns.

The great room opens onto the breakfast area and kitchen, which includes a walk-in pantry and a built-in desk, and access to the garage and a “home center,” which has a laundry room plus a mudroom. The library and powder room are on the opposite side of the great room.

Upstairs, the master suite has a tray ceiling, a separate sitting room, two walk-in closets and a bath with a corner tub, a separate shower and a double-sink vanity. Three more bedrooms, each with a private or connecting bath, complete this level.
