Carrhomes is building 14 single-family homes at Pohick Retreat in Springfield, in an enclave near the Fairfax County Parkway and the Springfield-Franconia Metro Station.

Each home in this Fairfax County community will include a brick front, a brick stoop and steps, vinyl siding, professional landscaping, a sodded lawn and a two-car garage.

Inside, all four models feature four bedrooms; two or 3½ baths; hardwood flooring in the kitchen, breakfast area and two-story foyer; 9-foot ceilings on the main and lower level; crown and chair-rail moldings; a gas fireplace; a master bath with a tub and separate shower; ceramic-tile flooring in all baths; two-zone gas heat and electric air conditioning; gas hot water; and 42-inch cabinets, a pantry and Corian counters in the center-island kitchen.

The homes have about 3,103 to 3,933 finished square feet and base prices from the high $500,000s.

The Fairfax model, with 3,704 square feet, features a two-story foyer leading into a central reception area that opens onto the living room, which is defined by decorative columns. The adjacent formal dining room opens onto a gallery area as well as the living room. Across the back of the house are a private library with a powder room and alcove entrance, a family room with a fireplace, and an open breakfast area and center-island kitchen with a walk-in pantry connecting to the garage.

Upstairs, the master suite has a separate sitting room with optional columns and an optional fireplace; two walk-in closets; and a bath with a large tub, a separate shower with a seat, and two sinks. Three more bedrooms, a laundry room and two more baths complete this level.

Options include a finished lower level, sunrooms, bay windows, bonus rooms and decks.
