LOS ANGELES, Feb. 4 (UPI) — A South Korean immigrant was arrested late Tuesday by FBI agents in the Los Angeles area as part of an investigation that sources said involved national security matters, television station KNBC said.

Few details of the arrest at a Santa Monica apartment building were made public Tuesday night, however the FBI told United Press International that additional information would be available after a search warrant affidavit was unsealed following the suspect's initial appearance in federal court Wednesday.

"We did arrest an individual in Santa Monica and conducted a search, however everything has been sealed by the court," said bureau spokeswoman Laura Bosley.

KNBC said federal sources identified the suspect as a South Korean immigrant who may have been living with his parents at the apartment in the seaside community. The sources also told KNBC that the arrest stemmed from a national security investigation.
