Artery Homes is building 103 single-family homes on lots a third of an acre at Maple Valley near Hagerstown, a location near Interstate 70 and a number of shopping centers.

Each home in this Washington County community will include maintenance-free siding, designer exterior lighting, an asphalt driveway, professional landscaping and a two-car garage. Three-car garages are optional.

Inside, all seven models feature four bedrooms; 2 baths; hardwood flooring in the foyer; 9-foot ceilings on the main and upper levels; crown and chair-rail moldings; 42-inch oak cabinets in the center-island kitchen; a master bath with a tub and separate shower; a high-tech wiring package; and gas heat and hot water.

The homes have 2,251 to 3,226 finished square feet, with base prices from the mid-$200,000s.

The Faulkner model, with 2,408 square feet and a base price of $299,900, features a library off the two-story foyer, with a living room and formal dining room along one side of the home defined by decorative columns.

At the back of the house, the center-island kitchen includes a built-in desk and a pantry and opens onto a breakfast area with a bay window. A step down with half walls on either side leads into the expansive family room, which has a fireplace flanked by windows. A powder room and a laundry room off the garage complete this level.

Upstairs, the master suite has a walk-in closet and a bath with a tub, a separate shower and a double-sink vanity. Three more bedrooms and another full bath complete this level.

Options include finished lower levels, sunrooms, extended family rooms and breakfast rooms, first-floor guest suites, additional bathrooms, kitchen upgrades and bay windows.
