Centex Homes is building 22 single-family homes at Kensington Orchids in Kensington, where residents can enjoy a location near Kensington Antique Row and the Wheaton Metro station.

Each home in this Montgomery County community will include a brick front, maintenance-free 6-inch beaded vinyl siding, a sodded lawn, professional landscaping and a two-car rear-entry garage or a two- or three-car front-entry garage.

Inside, both models feature four bedrooms; 2 baths; hardwood flooring in the foyer and powder room; oak stairs; 9-foot ceilings on all three levels; crown and chair-rail moldings; a gas fireplace; 42-inch raised-panel oak cabinets, a pantry and recessed lighting in the center-island kitchen; ceramic tile flooring and tub and shower surrounds in all baths; a master bath with a tub and separate shower; a high-tech wiring package; dual-zone gas heat; and gas hot water.

The homes have 2,561 to 2,894 finished square feet, with base prices from $595,990 to $612,990.

The Oxford model, with 2,894 square feet, is priced from $612,990. This home features an elegant foyer and powder room a few steps below the formal living room. The dining room features decorative columns and an optional bay window. The library has a double-door entrance. An optional wet bar can be added just outside the library.

The open back of the home features a family room with a fireplace, a breakfast area with a bay window and the center-island kitchen.

Upstairs, the master suite has an optional tray ceiling, a walk-in closet with a window seat, a vanity and an optional juice bar, and a bath with a tub, a separate shower with a seat and a double-sink vanity. Three more bedrooms, a laundry room and another full bath complete this level.

The lower level on this model has a two-car garage plus a tandem garage space for another car, which can be converted to a fifth bedroom.
