Location: "Captive Passage: The Transatlantic Slave Trade and the Making of the Americas" is on display at the Anacostia Museum and Center for African American History and Culture, at 1901 Fort Place SE in the District.

Directions: From the District, take Independence Avenue east past the Capitol Building to Second Street SE, where it intersects Pennsylvania Avenue. Bear right onto Pennsylvania Avenue and proceed to 11th Street SE and turn right. Take the 11th Street Bridge to Martin Luther King Jr. Avenue SE. Follow the avenue to Morris Road and turn left. Morris turns into Erie Street, then bear right at Fort Place.

Hours: The museum is open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily, except Christmas Day. Group tours are available by request. Keep in mind that some of the images may be disturbing for young children.

Parking: Available on site.
