Seen and heard last night at American Airlines Arena in Miami:
DEJA VU Wizards coach Doug Collins revealed that he knew last year's team lost its chance to make the playoffs Feb. 24 when they visited Miami. That was the day Michael Jordan had to have his right knee drained of about 60cc of fluid.
That forced Jordan to miss the team's next 12 games. He returned against Denver, but Jordan was never the same. Seven games after that Jordan was finished for the season.
And this is where it began.
"He looked at me and said with about six minutes to go [against the Heat], 'I can't go anymore.' That was the end. I remember walking in this building like it was yesterday. We saw the Heat's team doctor, and he said, 'Michael, you know you've got problems in there.' And that's basically where Michael's season finished."
ALL ACC With Juan Dixon in the starting lineup, the Wizards now have an all-ACC starting five of Dixon (Maryland), Michael Jordan (North Carolina), Jerry Stackhouse (North Carolina), Christian Laettner (Duke) and Brendan Haywood (North Carolina).
