Last night at Kohl Center in Madison, Wis.:

BY THE NUMBERS

31 Straight home wins by Wisconsin, which tied Stephen F. Austin for the nation’s longest current streak.

QUOTABLE

“Gary is going to push you to the point [of breaking] to get better. If he tells you you’re stinking, you have to ask yourself, ‘Am I giving it all I have?’ ”

Guard John Gilchrist on coach Gary Williams.

SEEN AND HEARD

Maryland wore its red uniforms for the first time since beating Duke in the ACC tournament final in March. … The Kohl Center could be called Comcast Center Midwest. The 6-year-old facility doesn’t have the steep wall of seats behind one basket, but the Badgers’ red-shirted backers and red seats look a lot like Maryland’s. … “Grateful Red” tie-dyed shirts were big among students. … Yes, they really sell cheese in bulk in Wisconsin. Big road signs scream “CHEESE” like firework stands in the District before the Fourth of July.
