How did you get started in real estate? My associate motivated me because I have been buying and selling homes in Chevy Chase since the late 1980s. My favorite pastime was going through beautiful homes on a Sunday afternoon, and I did so faithfully all the time, not only in Chevy Chase, but also in Virginia and Olney, Darnestown and Potomac and other areas. We always wanted the new-home amenities but liked the old neighborhoods.

How long with the current company? 8 months

Licenses and designations: Maryland real estate sales

Associations: National Association of Realtors, Greater Capital Area Association of Realtors

Greatest accomplishment in past 12 months: I have started a business model that just makes sense in areas where second-home prices are going through the roof. I bring multiple buyers to buy second homes together. I am happy with my model because it is not like a time share, since they would purchase the home at the right price and could purchase any home they want, anywhere. Buyers like it because when they are working full time and trying to afford college tuition and the cost of raising children, they can still afford a home at Lake Tahoe or Deep Creek or Rehoboth, and they don’t have to settle for something that’s only so-so.

What is your area of specialty? Northern Maryland from Chevy Chase to Hagerstown and also second homes in resort areas throughout the country

Highest-priced home sold: $265,000

Most memorable house: My client was a world-renowned concert pianist, and she had recently played at the Swiss Embassy. She played for me and also gave me a CD. She was a very interesting person, and her home was lovely.

Worst experience: My wonderful buyer clients were looking for a town home in Frederick. We were up against several bids each time, and it was very difficult, especially for a new agent. My clients were wonderful and loyal, and I really had fun working with them, despite the odds. They are now happy homeowners and ended up with the perfect house.

Age: 46

Family: Married, four children

Pets: Bichon frise dog, rabbit

Education: Bachelor of science in finance and economics, University of Maryland, 1981

Community affiliations/ community service: Director of Christian education at my Lutheran church; Sunday school teacher

Last movie seen: “Shrek 2”

What kind of car do you drive? Saab convertible.

What is your personal dream house? A beautiful lakefront Swiss chalet on Lake Como in Italy. It’s right over the border from Switzerland, and the prices are a bit more affordable, but it’s as clean and impressive.
