Some Washington-area residents find themselves dreaming of sailing away on a sunny day or just sitting by the swimming pool or gazing out at the water — anything but facing the pressures of the real world here along the Potomac.

Oyster Bay LLC is offering Oyster Bay at Solomons Island, a condominium development set on a private wooded cove with a marina in Maryland’s Calvert County. Each of the 96 condominium residences includes a deep-water boat slip and access to the recreational amenities of the development.

Sailing from Oyster Bay’s marina allows access to open water within minutes. The smaller boat slips will be 29 feet to 34 feet, and premium boat slips will range from 35 feet to 63 feet. The premium slips will be available for an additional charge.

Planned community amenities include visitor boat slips and parking areas so guests can arrive by boat or car for a weekend visit. Oyster Bay also will have a clubhouse with meeting rooms, a game room, a fitness center, a swimming pool and tennis courts.

The low-maintenance midrise building at Oyster Bay will include brick and vinyl siding along with exterior lighting, and decks or balconies for each home. The building will include a parking garage with a minimum of one space per home (two spaces for loft-style homes), plus storage units.

Inside, the homes include Category 5 wiring for telephone and cable, decorative columns, two-panel doors and lever-style door handles. Each kitchen includes recessed lighting and 42-inch oak cabinets. The master bath has a ceramic-tile shower and a separate whirlpool tub. Base prices will begin in the $400,000s.

The Intrepid model features an open living and dining room defined by columns, a gas fireplace, and a balcony accessible from both the living room and the master suite.

The kitchen includes a pantry and a breakfast bar, plus an adjacent breakfast area. The master suite has two walk-in closets, a wall of windows and a bath. This model also includes a study with a closet, a washer and dryer, and a second bedroom and second full bath.

The Intrepid model is also available with a loft, which changes the first-level floor plan by eliminating the second bedroom and adding a morning room with a sloped ceiling, open to the breakfast area and kitchen. The loft level has a bedroom with a cathedral ceiling, an upper-level laundry room and a full bath, for a total of three full baths.

The Constellation model features decorative columns in the dining room and living room, a gas fireplace in the living room, and a balcony accessible from both the living room and the master suite. This home has a larger kitchen and a breakfast area with a deep bay window. The master suite has two walk-in closets and a bath, and this home also has a study, a second bedroom and a second full bath.

The Constellation model is also available in a loft version with a larger study with a closet. It also features an open center-island kitchen with an adjacent morning room and breakfast area on the main level. Upstairs are the second bedroom and second full bath.
