Feb. 7: A living-history presentation of a Confederate surgeon, portrayed by Jason Grabill, will be held at the Museum of Civil War Medicine, 48 E. Patrick St., Frederick, 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. The program will include a demonstration of period surgical practices and a discussion of the challenges faced. For more information, 301/695-1864.

Feb. 14: “Path to Freedom — Frederick Douglass Walking Tour” is sponsored by Friends of the President Street Station at the Baltimore Civil War Museum. The walk begins at noon and is led by Louis C. Fields through Douglass’ Fells Point neighborhood. For information, 410/461-9377.


Feb. 11: The Fairfax Station Museum Forum presents Art Candenquist discussing Victorian morals and principles during the Civil War period, “The War Between the Sheets.” The meeting is at the railroad museum, 11200 Fairfax Station Road, at 7:30 p.m. For more information, 703/425-9225.
