Today-March 20: A lecture series on “Women in Civil War America” is presented by the Fort Ward Museum & Historic Site in observance of National Women in History Month. The lectures will be at 1 p.m. in the museum library. Admission is $5, and reservations are recommended. Today’s lecture is by historian Linda Duffy, a specialist in domestic culture. On March 20, Elizabeth Estilow of Hood College will discuss the crucial role of Civil War nurses. The Fort Ward Museum is at 4301 W. Braddock Road, Alexandria. Tuesday: The Eastern Loudoun Civil War Round Table presents a program by Virginia Beard Morton, author of “The War in Culpeper,” at 7:30 p.m. at the Sterling annex, 115 W. Church Road, Sterling. For more information, 703/404-0542.
