Seen and heard last night at America West Arena in Phoenix:

YOU’RE A WINNER — The promotions department here seems to be working overtime. Suns fan Trudy Dodson won a party at her house Friday night, with food delivered to her door by the Suns’ Gorilla mascot. Last night a lucky fan won the jersey and shoes worn by guard Joe Johnson during the game.

An upcoming promotion is offering dinner with Suns star Amare Stoudemire at a Phoenix-area Jack in the Box restaurant.

JAZZ APPRECIATION — The Wizards will begin Jazz Appreciation Month on Wednesday night at MCI Center with a performance by nine-time Grammy Award winner Herbie Hancock. The Wizards take on the Nets that night.

At halftime, Hancock will perform with students from the Thelonious Monk Institute of Jazz, where he serves as chairman.
