How did you get started in real estate? I started as an investor in the early 1990s.

How long with the current company?: Three years

Licenses: Real estate sales in Maryland, Virginia and the District of Columbia

Associations: Greater Capital Area Association of Realtors, Northern Virginia Association of Realtors

Awards: 2003 Long & Foster Founder’s Club — more than $10 million in production; GCAAR’s 2003 Top Producer Award

Greatest accomplishment in the past 12 months: I taught my son to ski. Bicycles are next.

What is your area of specialty? High-end homes and condos in Northwest Washington and its close suburbs.

Highest-priced home sold: $1.74 million

Most memorable house: I saw an old church that was converted into two high-end condominiums. The top unit had ceilings three stories high, with the church’s original rafters, and a two-story-high stained-glass window.

Worst experience: During a particularly busy open house recently, a guest used the master bathroom, clogged the drain, flooded the bathroom, and left without telling my brother and me. We didn’t realize there was a problem until water started dripping down the dining room chandelier onto our brochures. Despite the mess, we received 10 offers and set a new record in the subdivision.

Age: 37

Family: Married, two children

Education: Bachelor of arts in history, Yale, 1988; Master of business administration, Harvard, 1993

Last book read: “The DaVinci Code,” by Dan Brown

Last movie seen: “Lord of the Rings: Return of the King”

What is your personal dream house? I’m living in it.
