David Ingalls Jr., 51, musician, artist

David Marc Ingalls Jr., a musician and artist, died Nov. 17 at his home near MacArthur Boulevard in Northwest after a long illness. He was 51.

Mr. Ingalls was born at Bolling Field Hospital in the District, while his father was in the Air Force Band. He attended schools in Florida, Germany and Maryland, and graduated in 1971 from Severna Park High School in Severna Park, Md., where he was active in drama, music, art and writing.

Mr. Ingalls attended Baldwin-Wallace College in Berea, Ohio, and the Maryland Institute College of Art in Baltimore in the 1970s. His art was exhibited by the Baltimore Museum of Art and several D.C. art dealers.

He worked in construction and remodeling while continuing his interests in art and music.

His marriage to Neva Brown ended in divorce.

Survivors include his wife, Ginger Ingalls of the District; a son from his first marriage, Jesse Jenn Ingalls of Austin, Texas; his parents, David M. Sr. and Marjorie Ingalls of Severna Park; two sisters, Mary Best of Millersville, Md., and Beth Vernon of Baltimore; a brother, Ralph Ingalls of Baltimore; and a stepson, Benjamin D. Tyree of New York.

Memorial arrangements are pending at Our Shepherd Lutheran Church, 400 Benfield Road, Severna Park (410/647-1658).
