36Years since The Citadel opened a season with a victory on the road until its 69-62 win at Army on Nov. 20. The last time the Bulldogs had won a road opener was 1968, when The Citadel defeated Auburn 73-70.

Another name for a citadel is fortress. But The Citadel goes by another name: The Military College of South Carolina. … With Georgetown’s students on Thanksgiving break, Georgetown’s pep band duties were expertly handled by the District’s Shaw Junior High School band. … For those looking to next year, when the Big East expands to a 16-team conference, here’s a quick update of the five teams entering the conference. Not counting last night’s games, the incoming members were a combined 13-1, with No. 12 Louisville’s 76-71 loss to Iowa at the Maui Invitational the only setback.
